joy over futility

I will engage with people and empower their spirits without having to document it for liability - I will just love them. I will lay on the grass under a tree for hours with my wife and our dog after a hike. I will engage with strangers and dance to the music we hear from passing cars. I will wear nothing but jeans and V-neck t-shirts, and button-downs. I will sport pony tails, baseball caps and make-up.
I will tell stories from my life and listen to yours and we will imagine others. Together we will laugh and we will cry. I will wear leather boots most days, diamond studs or small silver loops on my ears to decorate me. These are my favorite things.
I will color blank pages and listen to music with my son, occasionally putting down the pencils to dance. Our society has it all wrong. We work too much doing the things we don't love. Do we even know what we love? Who we love.
Time is the true gold, too frequently spent on futility.
